Why would a designer use a theme?

Well, simply put, I cannot yet make a WordPress theme as robust and beautiful as a premium theme…yet!

Although I have plenty of experience customizing WordPress templates for years, with the ever-changing and expanding possibilities within WordPress, there is always more to learn that I have not managed to keep up with.

I am sure you have heard the phrase, “why reinvent the wheel?” Well, that can pertain to web development. If there is a script, program, or theme that does exactly what you need it to do, it does not make sense financially to recreate the entire thing. More time and energy and attention can be put toward creating something new.

Any designer can probably tell you the worst client they have to work for is themselves. We always think we can do better, which can sometimes mean we can’t “ship” our own personal projects. As I have spent the years laboring on client projects, my personal website always takes a back seat. I was unsure if it made sense to use a theme when I, myself, could make something. But I felt it was better to get my information and presence out onto the web in the quickest and best way possible.

So that is why this designer is using a WordPress theme instead of creating a new one from scratch.

Would you like me to customize an existing theme for you?
